Projects. Etrion
Corporation has closed the financing for the construction
of four solar power plants in southern Italy with
an aggregate capacity of four megawatts.

Germany: Solon Selected to Construct 11MW PV System.
SOLON
SE has been selected to build another turnkey, 11
MWp solar power plant in Spain. The contract was awarded
by Renewable Energies and Photovoltaics Spain S.L.
(REPS), a majority owned subsidiary of the Norwegian
energy company Statkraft AS.

Luis Obsipo, CA, USA: Solar Power Company Drops Out
of Plans for Carrizo Plain.
A 177-megawatt solar thermal power plant proposed
for the Carrizo Plain will not be built. In a deal
announced Wednesday, First Solar purchased the one-square-mile
property upon which Ausra Inc. had proposed building
its solar thermal plant.

Mexico.
Sanyo Energy has officially opened and started production
in Monterrey. The plant, located in Nuevo Leon, Mexico,
will be assembling Sanyo’s patented HIT (Heterjunction
with Intrinsic Thin-layer) solar modules.
